What we do

HDMC puts precise protocols in place to govern how your vessel operates on a daily basis. Financial Management is a key part of that and is central to our work with our clients.

HDMC can assist with arranging financing needs such as credit cards for crew, managing financial budgets and arranging invoice payments. We also work with leading international banks providing finance schemes for vessels under construction and in yard periods.

Key Financial Services

Operational funding and administration

Our Financial Account Managers oversee the application of operational funding, covering the following areas.

Crew costs

including travel, accommodation, subsistence, petty cash, expense claims, communications fees and medical and personal accident insurance premiums.

Survey costs

for which the owner is responsible, including third-party surveyor inspections in preparation for the issue of all necessary documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Class and selected Flag State.

Administration

of the Vessels credit card and prepaid cards.

Crew salaries

which are paid via HDMC in Mombasa, and can be made in any currency and include any necessary termination payments, deductions and remittances

Payroll Management is an integral part of our Crew Management services here at HDMC

Our payroll management services form a crucial part of the Crew Manning Office as it provides maximum flexibility that enables clients to monitor and organise payroll processing, accounting and cost control for ultimate efficiency.

In conjunction with our crew manning services, our seasoned professionals provide payroll administration services which include:

- Maintenance of a computerised payroll system
- Weekly/monthly payroll as required and the calculation/processing of all payroll activities, including salary deductions
- Administration of contributions in respect of employer’s pension
- Submission of Payroll Reports and Statements of Wages to the employing companyProduction and issue of Payslips
- Communication with tax authorities, pension scheme administrators etc. and the completion and submission of all applicable monthly/annual forms/returns on behalf of the employing company
- Close liaison with deploying companies

Mr.Migwi

Holder of Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option, Second Class Hons. Upper Division), a CPA (K), member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and, is the cofounder and Managing Director of High Definition Marine Company Limited , Mr. Migwi brings on board a wide range of experience in Financial and tax consultancy, Accountancy and Company Secretarial services, acquired over a 15 year span

Luke James

is the cofounder and Chief Technical officer of High Definition Marine Company Limited , Mr. James brings on board over 20 years experience at sea as a Chief Engineer ,and heads up our technical department overseeing new build projects and yard periods.

Joan Waihiga Muturi

Is a Finance specialist and our senior account manager, looking after our invoicing and payroll departments, with over 15 years in the corporate finance sector Joan is a key member of our organisation and the first point of contact for our new clients.
